If you’re a Jakartan who has been dreaming of seeing John Mayer live here for a long time, we’ve got the kind of news that’ll make you wonder what good deeds you did in a past life to deserve this. That’s right, he’s coming to play in the capital next year!
Although the guitar maestro slash singer-songwriter doesn’t have a new record coming out, he’s going on a world tour in 2019, nonetheless. And he’ll be kicking off the tour in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
Mayer — who’s also known as Kylo Ren cosplayer and serial celebrity dater — will be coming to Jakarta on April 5. That same month he’ll also be hitting Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
According to a press release, Mayer promises to play “two sets of music with more songs in rotation than ever before” at his shows.
Other than songs off of his 2017 album The Search for Everything and his latest summer bop New Light, it’s likely Mayer will also be performing your favorite songs from his heyday in the 2000s and perhaps even bits from his brief foray into country music. Cue the nostalgia:
