A grown man hitting likes on pornographic tweets inspired an extremely popular hashtag on the social media platform in Indonesia today. No, seriously.

The hashtag #SandhySondoroCabul (Sandhy Sondoro is a pervert) topped the list of trending topics in Indonesia this morning, and is still hovering about the top spot as of this article’s publication time. For those unaware, Sandhy Sondoro is one of Indonesia’s most popular male singer-songwriters, having churned out mega hits like Tak Pernah Padam and Malam Biru.

But now, Sandhy is under attack online after screenshots of his recent Twitter activity circulated online, showing that the 45-year-old — heaven forbid — liked some pornographic tweets.

“This is the guy who turned out to be unholy. Karma is real,” the user above wrote, referring to Sandhy’s previous statements criticizing Islamic clerics, including when the singer expressed glee that a community of Indonesian Muslims in Germany rejected plans for celebrity preacher Abdul Somad to come and give a sermon.

However, as the day went on, the hashtag was filled with tweets defending Sandhy, because there are only two types of people in the world: those who have seen porn and liars.

Sandhy’s Twitter account has been locked ever since the hashtag went viral, but his manager, named Eric, did not deny that Sandhy liked smut on Twitter.

“No, no,” Eric told Okezone when asked if Sandhy’s account was hacked.

“That’s his personal behavior, it’s normal. Is anything about it strange?”

Indonesia has a harsh anti-pornography law, but it has never been used to criminalize anyone for liking pornographic tweets. One of the most notable convictions under the law was that of Noah frontman Nazril “Ariel” Irham, who was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for appearing in two sex tapes featuring actresses Luna Maya and Cut Tari, separately.
