It looks like it’s going to be a music-filled start to the new year in Jakarta, as American band Tiny Moving Parts, known for their unique blend of math rock, pop-punk, and emo sounds, has been confirmed to perform in Jakarta on Feb 5, 2020 at Rossi Musik in Fatmawati, South Jakarta, as part of their 2020 Asia Tour.
Hailing from Minnesota, the band’s members are vocalist/guitarist Dylan Mattheisen and his cousins, brothers Matthew Chevalier on bass and Billy Chevalier on drums. They got their band name from a line in a song titled Kill The Switch by American screamo band Circle Takes The Square.
The trio has been playing together since junior high school, and have released seven studio albums: Waves Rise, Waves Recede, the Ocean is Full of Waves (2008), Moving to Antarctica (2010), This Couch is Long & Full of Friendship (2013), Pleasant Living (2014), Celebrate (2016), Swell (2018), and breathe (2019).
Mattheisen said the band are beyond stoked to play in Asia again, as they previously toured the continent just last year, including a stop in Jakarta.
“We are so freaking excited to come back to Asia! Last year was our first time and it was absolutely incredible. We love our fans over there and can’t wait to party again with everyone!” Mattheisen said in a statement received by Coconuts Jakarta yesterday.
Tickets are available at IDR299,000 (US$21.30) and available for purchase on Eventevent.
