Galeri Indonesia Kaya in Grand Indonesia has been killing it recently with a steady stream of remarkable performances from a wide variety of talented groups. This Saturday they’ll be hosting Mila Art Dance’s performance of “Lukah Gilo”, based on fishing traditions in Riau.

Then on Sunday, RegenerationTeater will be putting on a performance of “Tri Mbak Kentir” a drama about a group of friends from different backgrounds trying to make it in Jakarta.

As always, tickets to shows at Galeri Kaya Indonesia are free but they need to be reserved online via their website to ensure you get a seat. If online bookings are closed you can also try to arrive one hour before the show starts to try to get an extra seat.

You can pretty much always count on an Ashram joint to feature some eclectic beats far removed from the usual club anthems that usually dominate Jakarta nightlife hotspots. This gig at the Goods Diner in SCBD on Saturday should be no exception with three exceptionally eclectic DJs manning the deck. For more info: FB event page
