Titled “Geneviève Couteau: The Orient and Beyond”, it highlights the works of the French artist who came to Asia in the late 1960s and aims to ignite discussion on the construction history in Asian art, especially in regards to Bali. Her work is noted for depicting locals with empathy and as equals as opposed to the otherization employed by other European artists at the time.
