Get down with DubVision at Colosseum (Friday night)

Dutch brothers Victor and Stephan Leicher are quickly conquering the world of dance music as the dynamic duo DubVision. Everybody from Hardwell and David Guetta to Avicii and Tiësto are supporting their show-stopping productions, which they’re bringing to Jakarta for the 3rd anniversary of Cirque D’Colosseum,

Savor the sounds of Strauss, Tchaikovsky and more at Aula Simfonia  (Saturday evening) Lovers of classical music take note. This Saturday, Aula Simfonia Jakarta will be holding a New Year’s Concert featuring acclaimed pianist Kevin Suherman tackling Rober Schumann’s Piano Concerto, as well as works by Strauss and Tchaikovsky. Hear Philly shoegaze band Nothing rock Rossi Musik (Saturday night)

Known for their intense and blisteringly loud shows, Philadelphia-based band Nothing’s gig at Rossi Musik is being eagerly anticipated by Jakarta’s shoegaze rock lovers. The band is currently on their first-ever Asian tour which is also bringing them to Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia.  

At their Jakarta gig, Nothing will be sharing the stage with local indie rock heroes Barefood, Total Jerks, Modern Guns, and Collapse.

 

Get swept up in the sounds of Young Magic at SUPERBAD (Sunday night)

Nothing isn’t the only American indie band playing a gig in Jakarta this weekend. Acclaimed Brooklyn-based duo Young Magic will be performing at the latest edition of SUPERBAD, Jakarta’s greatest indie music showcase. 

Young Magic singer Melati Malay was actually born in Indonesia and ‘Still Life’, the band’s new album, was written to coincide with her return to her birthplace. ‘Still Life’ shows off the band’s ethereal electronic pop sounds that put them in the same realm as Bjork and Broadcast. Delta-bluesman Adrian Adioetomo and keyboard-adventurist A Fine Tuning Creation will also perform at this gig. FDC Rp 80k. For more info: FB event page
