There are a couple of conventions that Jakarta fanboys and fangirls countdown to each year and Battle of the Toys is one of the big ones. A two day celebration of all things related to comics, cartoons and, of course, toys, BOTT’s big guest star this year is Tetsuo Kurata, best known as the original star of “Kamen Rider”. There will also be cosplay competition, stage shows and tons of awesome local toy makers showing off their collectible creations.

In honor of Indonesia’s recent 71st anniversary, the August edition of Unmasked’s regular open mic poetry event takes on the theme of “Ancestry” and will feature original poems by Olin Monteiro (PWAG Indonesia), Muhamad Iman Usman (Ruang Guru), Bentara Bumi (Malam Puisi Jakarta), Henry C. Widjaja (author of ‘Celebrating the Moment’ PhotoPoems) and seasoned poet Kurnia Effendi.
