American music label 88rising this morning dropped a tease for the long-awaited Head in the Clouds music festival in Jakarta, more than two years after the event was canceled due to COVID-19.

On its socials, the label this morning posted the message, “INDONESIA ARE YOU READY?” to the delight of fans. On Twitter, 88rising tagged @HITCJKT, the official account for its Jakarta festival, heavily hinting that the event will indeed be held in the capital.

No further details about the festival have been divulged so far.

Head In The Clouds festival, dubbed the “Asian Coachella,” was supposed to debut in Jakarta in March 2020 at JIExpo Kemayoran, with headliners including US-based hometown heroes in rapper Rich Brian and R&B singer/songwriter NIKI.

The festival was slated to feature their label mates, including former internet personality-turned R&B and trip-hop Japanese singer Joji and I Love You 3000 singer Stephanie Poetri, as well as other up-and-coming international artists such as Thai singer-songwriter Phum Viphurit.

Though no update on ticketing has been released today, the festival previously issued a notice saying that Head in the Clouds 2020 tickets that were not refunded will remain valid for the make-up festival.

Sharing its name with a compilation album featuring 88rising stars, the inaugural Head in the Clouds festival was held in Los Angeles in 2018. A second festival followed in 2019, with the Jakarta festival in 2020 supposed to be the third edition. 88rising held another festival in LA in December 2021, with another date in the city of angels confirmed for August 2022.
