WATCH: Celebrated Indonesian restaurant in NYC also one of the city’s smallest with just one table

The ambiance may not be elegant and the chef may not hold any Michelin stars but we’re guessing that, thanks to this video by Great Big Story, little Warung Selasa has become one of the hottest tables in New York.

That’s because the restaurant, housed inside Queen’s only dedicated Indonesian grocery store, has just a single table. And it’s only open one day a week (thus the restaurant’s name – selasa means Tuesday).

Owned and operated by Dewi Tjahjadi, Warung Selasa has been serving up authentic Indonesian cuisine to Queens residents for 10 years now. Out of what is also likely one of the NYC’s smallest kitchen, Chef Dewi whips up hearty dishes like gudeg and rendang ayam.

Despite its tiny size and location, Warung Selasa has gotten some serious culinary notice, including a glowing review and critic’s pick from the New York Times.
