What Jakartans love in Bali will eventually make their way to Jakarta, with the beloved Butterman Croissanterie set to be the latest to expand to the capital.

Bakerman, one of the most authentic and finest of French bakeries in Canggu, which is often frequented by tourists from Jakarta, recently launched a new Instagram account for its capital expansion.

“Coming in hot and fast,” Butterman announced that it will open its first and flagship store in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Jakartans have also recently noticed construction work in Grand Indonesia reserved for Butterman. The croissanterie has indeed confirmed that it is also opening a store in the Central Jakarta mall.

No opening dates have been announced for either store. We have reached out to Butterman for more information on when we can get our hands on some fluffy and flakey pastries.

It must be noted that Butterman has been in Jakarta before, when it opened a pop up store in Gandaria City mall from Oct. 13 to 30.

Butterman follows a recent trend in which popular Bali pastries expand to Jakarta. In 2021, Monsieur Spoon opened the first of its Jakarta stores in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), before it continued its expansion with more bakeries and the introduction of its sister bakery Croco in Jakarta.

In April of this year, Livingstone Café & Bakery also launched a store in the North Jakarta township, with plans to open more stores in the capital soon.
