A young Hong Kong demonstrator who was shot during an anti-extradition bill protest in Sai Wan Ho three years ago was found guilty on Monday by the District Court of obstructing a police officer and attempting to snatch his gun, according to an RTHK report.

Chow Pak-kwan was 21 years old when he was shot with live ammunition in the abdomen by the police officer on Nov. 11, 2019.

He was also convicted of a count of attempting to escape from custody.

A co-defendant in the same case, Woo Tsz-kin, who was 19 back in 2019, was also found guilty of obstructing the officer and attempting to snatch his gun.

The sentencing for the two has been scheduled for Oct. 10, pending the request for the defendants’ background reports.

Both of them have been remanded in custody.
