Woman in Chungking Mansions fight charged with wounding

A 22-year-old woman has been charged with one count of wounding after she got involved in a fight in Chungking Mansions that left another woman lying in a pool of her own blood.

The defendant, believed to be a Ugandan asylum seeker named Sophie, is accused of attacking a 35-year-old female asylum seeker from the same country in a fight on Wednesday morning.

She made her first court appearance at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court today, on.cc reports.

The victim, identified in local media as Lisa, was taken to hospital with wounds to her chest and neck thought to have been caused by shards of glass from a bottle.

She remains in critical condition.
