A woman was found dead in her Mong Kok home Tuesday morning after what is believed to be a domestic dispute with her husband.

Police confirmed with Coconuts that they received a report just before noon about a 28-year-old woman who had been discovered dead in her Portland Street apartment with cuts all over her body.

Earlier, when a concerned friend who had been unable to contact her visited the home, the woman’s four-year-old son answered the door and said his father had stabbed his mother.

According to HK01, neighbors heard quarreling from the apartment on Sunday night after the woman returned home from celebrating her birthday outside. It is suspected that the couple were having an argument and that the attack happened during the dispute.

On Monday at around 1 am, her 32-year-old husband—who is from mainland China—was found dead after falling from the fourth floor balcony of a building in Mong Kok. Police said that initial findings revealed she was attacked by her husband with a sharp object. They are investigating whether the man committed suicide after killing his wife.

South China Morning Post reported that the couple’s son stayed by his deceased mother’s side for more than 30 hours. The boy was not hurt and was sent to a hospital for a check-up.
