Wife allegedly attacks husband with hammer at home in Tai Po, both arrested

A 43-year-old woman and her 62-year-old husband were both arrested in Tai Po yesterday after she allegedly attacked him with a hammer following a heated argument.

The incident took place at Yat Nga Court residential estate in the early hours of the morning after the couple apparently got into a screaming match, reports Sing Tao Daily.

Police officers, who arrived on the scene after receiving reports from concerned neighbours, were forced to break into the home when the woman apparently refused to allow them to enter.

The man was found unconscious, while the woman also sustained injuries in her head, arms and legs. She was said to be in an “emotional” state. Both were arrested for assault.

As of press time, the man remains in the intensive care unit in hospital, while the woman is reportedly in a “stable” condition.

A hammer allegedly used in the attack has been collected by the police as evidence.
