WATCH: Cops and MTR staff push broken down 16 tonne bus off train tracks to safety

Over 10 police officers and MTR workers have re-affirmed our faith in the Lion Rock Spirit after they pushed a broken down double-decker bus off a set of train tracks in Tin Shui Wai earlier today.

A witness surnamed Fan said on Facebook that the bus’ engine had suddenly stopped and blocked a set of Light Rail tracks on Tin Fuk Road, near Hang Mei Tsuen Station .

The station was notified immediately and the train service was halted while police rushed to the scene to help, Oriental Daily reports.

In order to resume the Light Rail service as quickly as possible, police officers and MTR staff leapt into action to move the 16 tonne bus out of the way.

They achieved this roughly 20 minutes later, at which point the train service was gradually restored.

Hundreds of netizens have thanked the officers and MTR workers effusively for their hard work, while quite a few have humorously pointed out the one guy who made sure to take a picture of the whole ordeal before joining in:

Commenters joked that the man in the white shirt was too preoccupied with “eating peanuts” – Hong Kong slang for observing and often documenting other people’s struggles or drama from the sidelines.

Judging from a Facebook post by MTR Corp. later on, he was just #DoingItForTheFans.
