Police arrested a 37-year-old Vietnamese man this morning after he attempted to rob a 7-Eleven using a nail clipper.

Nailed it, he didn’t.

The robbery took place on Pei Ho Street just before 7:30am when the suspect walked into the convenience store and tried to threaten a 42-year-old female employee with the nail clipper, Ming Pao reported.

Some other news outlets such as hk01 described the item as a nail file.

Whatever it was, it didn’t have much of an impact of the shop clerk. The woman called the police, who arrived shortly afterwards and cordoned off the area.

The suspect was arrested on the spot, and no items are believed to have been stolen.
