Three men, aged 21 to 27, have been arrested in connection to the death of Bosco Kwok, the hiker who was found dead earlier today.

After 20-year-old Kwok’s body was found this morning, an “unusual injury” on his corpse led police to suspect that there had been foul play, Apple Daily reports. According to Oriental Daily, the injury resembled a gunshot wound.

Police have reportedly seized a bloodied backpack, which was found near where Kwok and his friends were hiking, as evidence.

Police have classified Kwok’s death as a murder. Three of Kwok’s friends, who were with him at the time of his alleged disappearance, were arrested. They have been taken into police custody for questioning.

Kwok and his friends were hiking to Black Hill in the early hours of yesterday. It has been widely reported that the group was planning on holding a military simulation — or war game — with replica weapons once they reached their destination. Kwok’s three acquaintances told police that the 20-year-old had left the hike after receiving an urgent phone call at about 3:30am, and claimed that their telephone calls to him 30 minutes later went unanswered.

Kwok was reported missing by his mother at around noon yesterday when he failed to return home. He was found at 8:24am today, around 28 hours after he was last seen alive.
