Temperatures to drop by 10 degrees next week, thanks to an ‘easterly airstream’

Hong Kong weather’s fluctuated a bit recently, to put it mildly. It feels like there were a solid 6 months of summer before temperatures nosedived last week, hitting a low of 16 degrees on Friday, before slowly rising back up again to the mid-to-high 20s.

It’s almost enough to make us feel like Joey Tribbiani, Chameleon Extraordinaire.

Next week is bound to be no less than a meteorological rollercoaster ride (which is not a thing, but should be), as an easterly airstream from Guangdong not-so-gradually brings us cooler, damper days.

The Hong Kong Observatory predicts the week will start off warm with a minimum temperature of 23 degrees on Monday, before a sudden drop on Wednesday and Thursday, when the minimum temperatures are predicted to be 18 and 17 degrees, respectively.

Those planning to head to Clockenflap after work on Friday should wrap up warm, as the temperatures that day are forecast to range from 16 to 19 degrees. You wouldn’t want to be chilly during Sigur Rós or George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics’ sets, would you?
