A teenager has survived a plunge from the 19th floor of a building after his fall was broken by several air conditioners he hit on the way down, according to a report.

In a story today, the SCMP wrote that the 15-year-old was playing and jumping around the edge of the roof of the Man Wah Building in Man Ying Street in Jordan yesterday evening.

Apple Daily identified the 15-year-old as a southeast Asian student surnamed Singh.

According to neighbours, several loud “bangs” were heard as the teen fell from the building and landed on the first floor shortly before 8pm.

Singh, who was wearing school uniform, had hit several air conditioners on his way down, which reduced the impact of him hitting the ground, the paper reported.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and transferred to the intensive care unit.

The SCMP reported that the teen was not a resident of the building but had been having a gathering on the roof with six other friends.

He was said to have been jumping around the edge, with a police investigation turning up nothing suspicion about the fall.

According to Apple Daily, Singh and his friends are suspected of taking part in parkour, a dare devil sport sometimes referred to as free-running where participants leap, roll or climb from one building or obstacle to another.

However, Headline Daily reported that friends of Singh who are assisting the police with their investigation have denied taking part in the extreme sport.
