Perhaps fed up with confronting inconsiderate youth lounging on the priority seats, one older gentleman decided to take matters into his own hands.

By matters, we mean his backside, and by hands, we mean his own portable seat.

According to HK01, the photo of the comfortable commuter, posted online by a netizen, was shot at Lam Tin station on the Kwun Tong line.

It’s been doing the rounds on social media and generating a bit of discussion.

Some were encouraging, saying the seated citizen had reached the age where you’ve got to take care of yourself.

Others were less so, accusing the man of being selfish and hindering fellow passengers, who had to navigate around his door-zone throne to exit the carriage.

“Imagine if everyone did this,” one exclaimed.

According to the MTR’s conditions of carriage of luggage, unless authorized in writing, a passenger travelling on the MTR may carry only one piece of luggage with maximum size capped at 170 centimeters  by 130 centimeters.

Permits can be obtained for musical instruments and sporting gear with dimensions up to 235 centimeters by 135 centimeters.

Seats, well, I guess you just gotta be lucky.
