Souls of Hong Kong: Pops at Kwun Tong Promenade

SOULS OF HONG KONG – This young woman named Pops was photographed at the Kwun Tong Promenade. Pops’ job is to organise and promote local environmental campaigns, like the Food Wise Campaign launched last year.

Pops finds her job challenging but extremely rewarding. “I feel encouraged when I see that our efforts have allowed people to live a greener life. I always believe that environmental protection is a joint effort – if everyone in the city made a small change, together we can make a big difference. However, the environmental industry in Hong Kong is not mature yet and doesn’t receive enough support from the government.”

Souls of Hong Kong is a new Coconuts series of street portrait photography inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York. Every human has a story to tell, and we intend to share some from the millions of souls who call Hong Kong home.
