Playing in Traffic: Footage of woman using road sign as personal swingset shared widely

Hong Kong’s often called a concrete jungle, but what about a concrete playground? A woman who was apparently using a road sign as her own personal swingset was shared widely on social media last month after a passing driver caught the incident on his dashcam.

Driver Raymond Wong’s footage was shared on popular Facebook page Impractical Idealist with the caption “Anywhere can be Neverland if you believe” (just think of a wonderful thought, right?):

The video was apparently filmed in Hung Hom, near the PolyU dorms, judging by the massive “Hung Hom Bay” road sign which the swing was hooked on. In addition to the swing, a few colourful playground mats were also scattered around the traffic island.

Many netizens said they were amazed and expressed an interest on trying out the swing for themselves. Others (a.k.a. party poopers) were rather more perturbed. “She’s going to kill someone if she does that at night,” said one commenter. “It’s creepy,” wrote another.

One netizen said she spoke to the woman in the video, who told her she was actually a performance artist, and the purpose of her “performance” was to show the “emptiness” of people in the city.

Okay, but when can we have a go?
