Woman falls under train at Kowloon Tong MTR Station, East Rail service suspended for half an hour

Commuters travelling to and from Kowloon Tong were delayed for roughly half an hour this morning after an MTR passenger reportedly fell onto the tracks.

MTR Corp. announced that the East Rail Line service was suspended at 10:48am after somebody fell under a Sheung Shui-bound train, and recommended that passengers find alternative transportation.

Services between Mong Kok East Station and Tai Wai Station were completely suspended, while the frequency of East Rail Line trains from Hung Hom to Mong Kok East, Tai Wai to Lo Wu, and Tai Wai to Lok Ma Chau were reduced.

At 11:12am, MTR Corp. stated that the “person under the train” matter had been resolved, but confirmed that there was still a “major delay”.

According to Apple Daily, the passenger, a middle-aged woman, had fallen onto the tracks by accident. She was reportedly bleeding heavily when firefighters rescued her, and was sent to hospital for treatment.

At around 11:30am, netizens began reporting on Facebook that normal service was slowly being resumed.
