Peak property breaks Hong Kong records by selling for HKD5.1 billion

There’s a new record for a private residential property sale in Hong Kong – and yes, it’s ridiculous.

Savills has announced that a property at 75 Peak Road has sold for a staggering HKD5.1 billion.

Thankfully it spans an area of 124,000 square feet and has an unobstructed sea view of the Southside, rather than being a micro-apartment with views into someone else’s sitting room. That makes us feel a bit better.

The sale still works out at HKD82,252 per square foot, however, so it’s hardly cheap.

The buyer of the property, which is known as Ho Tung Garden to some, has chosen to remain anonymous but plans to redevelop the site, according to Savills.

Maybe this will be where Hooters Hong Kong decided to set up.
