A small stick left on the road caused a big bloody problem for a Hongkonger on a motorbike this morning.

The 59-year-old motorcyclist, surnamed Lee, was sent flying off his bike about 7:30am after clipping the foot-long piece of wood while riding downhill in the slow lane of the East Kowloon Corridor toward Tsim Sha Tsui.

The bike then ran over his fingers.

Footage of the aftermath published by Apple Daily isn’t a pretty sight.

Fortunately, a red-topped taxi following Lee quickly stopped and blocked off the lane to shelter the injured rider.

Video filmed by the newspaper show paramedics at the scene bandaging Lee’s bloodied left hand as he sits in the middle of the road, wearing a shirt covered in blood.

In the same video, the taxi driver can be heard telling a traffic cop that he saw Lee and his bike fly into the air then immediately land on the ground.

Ouch.
