The body of a teenager, who went missing from her parent’s Mid-Levels flat on the weekend, has been found in Victoria harbor, according to a report.

Form six student Chin Yu-ying,was found dead on Monday afternoon in the harbor near Hung Hom hours after she was reported missing, the SCMP reported.

The 17-year-old went missing after leaving the family’s flat on Babington Path on Sunday, according to a statement released yesterday by the Hong Kong Police Force, which undertook a citywide search for the teenager.

She was last seen leaving her home wearing a long-sleeved, gray checkered shirt, dark pants, black shoes, white watch and carrying a black canvas bag.

The SCMP reported that no injuries were found on her body and preliminary investigations revealed nothing suspicious.

The newspaper, however, noted that Chin had not shown any suicidal tendencies or had any arguments with her parents prior to disappearance.

Police continue to investigate the case and will carry out an autopsy.
