A man was found dead with a knife lodged in his chest in a North Point hotel room Sunday.
Police are investigating the death of the 66-year-old, whose family members contacted Harbor Grand Hong Kong Hotel around 5 pm after they were unable to reach him.
Nobody answered the door when hotel staff went to check on him. Upon entering the room with a spare key, staff found the man lying down and unresponsive with the knife pierced through his chest.
The man is believed to have been dead for a day before being found, police said.
He also had lacerations on his neck and chest. According to HK01, the man has a history of psychological issues, but no suicide letter was found in the room.
CCTV footage in the hotel showed that the last time he left his room was Aug. 26.
He checked into the North Point hotel in April this year, and was due to stay until December.
