Man confesses to photographing woman’s chest as she tied her shoes on the MTR

A 56-year-old man today admitted in court to taking several sleazy snaps of a woman’s cleavage while on the MTR.

Purchasing manager Keung Chi-fai was sitting opposite the woman in a train at University station on August 4 when she bent down to tie her shoelaces, Apple Daily reported.

The defendant took out his phone and started to take photos of the woman’s chest. However, a friend of the woman — who was sitting next to Keung — spotted this, raised the alarm, and called the police.

He admitted to the court that he took nine photos. He added that his actions were impulsive, and that he had learned his lesson.

The magistrate adjourned the case until Nov. 6 for sentencing, and the defendant was granted bail of HK$500 (about US$64).

Keung was not the only person to get busted for taking photos of women’s chests this year; in early August, it came to light that an officer at Tsim Sha Tsui police station was under investigation for allegedly taking photos of a woman inside a police station.

Two photos of the woman wearing a low-cut top were circulated among some police officers in a WhatsApp group and went viral. The police officer in question was removed from his post and disciplined.
