Jacket time: Temperatures to drop to low teens over the weekend as cold front hits

Winter is coming.

Get ready for Hong Kong to be plunged into the icy depths of the low teens. Perhaps worse.

Forecasts predict the mercury to drop to temperatures of 12 and 13 degrees Celsius over the weekend, with the chill expected to start setting in tonight.

“The northeast monsoon associated with the cold front is bringing appreciably cooler and rainy weather to Guangdong,” the weather service explained.

“Temperatures over most parts of the territory around noon were about four degrees lower than those of yesterday.”

It’ll stay bleak, according to the Observatory.

They reckon today conditions will be  “cloudy with a few rain patches” becoming “cool significantly.” later on. You hear that, significantly.

Temperatures will drop further over the weekend with continuing rain patches things staying cold early to mid next week.

Time to layer up, Coconauts.
