Industrial building worker thrown into elevator doors by forklift cart

Anyone who has had a rough day at work knows that the first thing they want to do is recline and relax for a bit.

This worker, though, made the mistake of reclining on the job and with little warning — wham! — found himself sandwiched between an elevator door and a fork cart.

A video posted online shows the man getting into a elevator in an industrial building with a manual fork cart. After shutting the door, he makes himself comfortable on the cart and leans back.

After about 20 seconds, the two ends of the forklift cart get caught in the door, throwing the man straight into the elevator doors.

The lift stops, and he presses the elevator’s emergency button to call for help.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that the entire thing was being watched and chortled over by what appears to be either the man’s work colleagues or at least fellow building occupants.

The incident happened at an industrial building on An Pui Wan Street in Fo Tan at about 3pm yesterday, and the man is believed to be a 50-year-old employee of the building.

He was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

According to Apple Daily, the Fire Services Department received a report of a man being trapped in an elevator at about 3:26pm yesterday.
