Hong Kong preacher jailed for taking ‘up-skirt’ shots on MTR

A 52-year-old preacher was handed a four-week prison term at Tuen Mun Magistracy yesterday after admitting to taking unauthorised obscene photos of female passengers on the MTR West Rail Line last year.

The man, surnamed Chow, pleaded guilty to four counts of acts outraging public decency, reports Apple Daily.

He was caught taking “up-skirt” shots of female passengers using a camera hidden in a bag by fellow passengers, who reported him to the police.

Searching through Chow’s home, the police later found a memory stick that contained up-skirt images of women taken during a church choir session.

Pleading in court, his lawyer said the preacher was an “introverted” person who “lacked confidence”. He said Chow has since resigned from his job as a preacher, “reluctantly leaving his role in serving the lord”, the paper said.

The magistrate remarked that it was necessary to protect female passengers on public transport. He added that the sentence would serve as a deterrent.
