There was high drama in Tai Tam yesterday morning after a woman believed to be a female escort was spotted sitting on the ledge of a 19th floor luxury apartment block in an attempt to escape from two men whom she claimed had been holding her since the night before.

The woman, according to reports, was rescued by emergency services after spending about three hours on the ledge while police arrested two men, surnamed Dong and Lau, 50 and 49, on suspicion of false imprisonment over the incident.

Officers are also investigating if drugs were involved, and whether or not the woman, a 29-year-old surnamed Wang from Sichuan, breached the conditions of her stay.

The case came to light early yesterday morning when emergency services received a call from people living in a private housing estate called Hong Kong Parkview.

The callers reported that a woman had been spotted sitting on the ledge of one of the apartment blocks at around 6:45am, Apple Daily reports.

After being rescued, Wang reportedly told firefighters that she had been held in the apartment overnight, and that she locked herself in the bathroom after refusing to take part in a sex game.

The newspaper reports that the two men reportedly threatened her saying they would hurt her family, and when she tried to leave, the pair held her back by pulling her hair.

She then fought back and locked herself in the bathroom, before attempting to escape by breaking the bathroom window.

When she finally got out, residents saw her perched on a ledge and called the police, and fire services arrived with an inflated air cushion just in case.

Wang sat on the ledge for about three hours until a police negotiator persuaded her not to jump, and to return to the flat where they arrested the two men.

According to on.cc, Wang came to Hong Kong from Sichuan and is a two-way permit holder, which prevents her from working in Hong Kong.

Local outlets described Wang as emotional, and said it was possible she was under the influence of drugs during the incident.
