Domestic helper allegedly admits to strangling 2-year-old boy while employers were at work

A Indian domestic helper who was arrested on suspicion of murdering of her employers’ son has allegedly admitted to strangling the child.

The suspect, aged 22, reportedly confessed to the act under police caution yesterday, according to Apple Daily. She was taken to her employers’ apartment at around 4:30pm yesterday to participate in a crime reconstruction, reports SCMP

Police are still trying to determine her motive.

The 22-year-old is reported to have no history of mental illness. She moved from India to Hong Kong earlier this year when the boy’s parents hired her to care for their son.

Chief Inspector Chan Ka-po from the Yuen Long district crime squad told reporters that the family got on well with the domestic helper during her seven-month tenure.
