A female tourist could lose her right foot after it was run over by a bus at a Hong Kong tourist attraction.

According to Apple Daily the tourist, a 66-year-old mainlander surnamed Zhao, was traveling with a tour group that had stopped at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai at around 11am yesterday.

Zhao was crossing the street near the square at around 11:40am just as a coach headed towards Wan Chai pier, driven by a 62-year-old surnamed Wong, was passing. Just as Zhao started to cross the road, the bus’s front wheel rolled over her foot.

Wong couldn’t stop his vehicle in time and knocked Zhao over. One eyewitness told the newspaper that she had begun crossing the road without checking for traffic.

Videos posted on social media hours later shows a calm, but visibly shocked, Zhao sitting on the ground with two women nearby.

In one video, which some readers may find upsetting, a man can be heard saying in the background: “I can see the bone.”

Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, and Zhao was sent to Queen Mary Hospital in a conscious state.

The newspaper reports that a breathalyzer test found the driver had no alcohol in his system, and that the hospital may have to amputate Zhao’s right foot.
