One minute you’re looking for somewhere to park, next minute footage of your white SUV stuck on a set of stairs is going viral online.

This, friends, was the unfortunate experience of one Hongkonger on Friday, according to Apple Daily.

The driver, a 46-year-old surnamed Chu, took a wrong turn while searching for a space at the China Hong Kong City commercial complex in Tsim Sha Tsui.

He found a space, but not one meant for cars.

His SUV became stuck down a small flight of stairs, a motoring mishap he likely realized fairly quickly.

It’s not entirely clear from news reports how Chu ended up in the pedestrian passageway.

Netizens, as they do, speculated he likely misread overhead signage while failing to see the LED arrows indicating a left turn was necessary.

It was at this moment that towing became necessary.

While most netizens smugly laughed at the unfortunate Chu, others expressed sympathy, agreeing the overhead signage was misleading.
