A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after his 18-year-old boyfriend stabbed him in the neck, local media reports.

At around 1am today, the 18-year-old, surnamed Lau visited the 15-year-old, surnamed Lo, at his family’s village house in Kwan Tei, Apple Daily reports. The pair, who were alone, are reported to have quarrelled over “emotional problems” and got into a physical dispute. Lau then allegedly attacked Lo with a knife, stabbing him in the neck and arm, and locked the front door.

Lo’s mother attempted to return home but was unable to open the door, and called the police after hearing sounds of a struggle. When authorities broke down the door, Lau reportedly stabbed himself in the neck with the knife. He was arrested on suspicion of wounding

Both teens were rushed to hospital. HK01 reports that one of the boys was moved to the intensive care unit after his wound wouldn’t stop bleeding.

Police cordoned off Lo’s home for investigation and seized a 20-centimetre-long fruit knife as evidence.
