15 people injured after double-decker bus and minibus collide in Sham Shui Po

Two people are in critical condition and another 13 are injured after a red minibus and double-decker New World First Bus (NWFB) collided in Sham Shui Po this morning.

The collision occurred at around 8am, at the junction of Shun Ning Road and Hing Wah Street, Apple Daily reports.

 

 

The minibus was overturned on impact and all 17 people onboard — 16 passengers and one driver — were trapped. Firefighters arrived on the scene to rescue them, and the injured were sent to hospital.

Out of the 16 minibus passengers, 13 passengers were injured. Both drivers were also injured. The NWFB driver, a 49-year-old man surnamed Mak, has been arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

Of the injured passengers, two are in critical condition, four are in serious condition, five are in stable condition, and four have been discharged.
