Police are on the hunt for two youngsters suspected in a bullying incident, in which a 12-year-old girl was slapped across the face and had beer poured on her head following a verbal dispute in Wong Tai Sin.

A group of ten people approached the girl and her friends near Choi Hung Estate Tuesday night.

They began arguing with the girl, and two of them reportedly poured beer on her head and slapped her face ten times.

The victim’s father, surnamed Tsang, was worried as it was getting late and his daughter had not yet arrived home. He called his daughter, who picked up but was too afraid to tell him where she was, according to Apple Daily.

Tsang was able to track his daughter down using her phone’s GPS location. When he arrived, the group ran away and stole the girl’s backpack, which contained HK$400 (US$50) and an Octopus card.

The police received the victim’s father’s report around midnight. Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was having a verbal dispute with the group.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and was sent to United Christian Hospital, accompanied by her father.

The incident is being handled as an “ordinary assault” and “theft” case by the Wong Tai Sin Police District Criminal Investigation Team. The two suspects are a man and a woman aged between 17 to 20, according to police.

No one has been arrested as of Thursday afternoon.
