1 dead, 3 injured after multi-vehicle collision in Fan Ling

A fatal traffic accident in Fan Ling last night claimed the life of a 57-year-old truck driver and injured three others. 

At around 6:05pm, the 57-year-old was driving his truck down Fanling Highway towards Yuen Long, according to a police statement. As the truck was approaching a roundabout at So Kwun Po Road, it reportedly crashed into another truck, a private car, and a van.

The 57-year-old truck driver, who was trapped inside the compartment, was rescued by firefighters. He was rushed to North District Hospital in an unconscious state and declared dead at 6:58pm.

The driver of the other truck, aged 37, was injured in the collision, as were the 37-year-old private car driver and his 32-year-old passenger. They were all conscious and sent to North District Hospital for treatment.

An investigation by police officers from the traffic team of New Territories North is underway.
