IKEA in Kowloon Bay to offer massive discounts… if you shop between 11pm Friday and 2am Saturday

Do you HATE going to IKEA on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon… because, after all, it is actual living hell? How do you fancy doing your shopping between 11pm this Friday night and 2am on Saturday morning instead? Yeah, thought not.

The “Midnight Madness Sale” is the latest promotional technique employed by the Swedish furniture giant, which has presumably seen some vaguely challenging times in Hong Kong of late.

In the first four months of this year, the value of territory-wide retail sales decreased by 2.3 percent on the same period of last year, although, interestingly, furniture sales increased by 2.6 percent, reports the Standard.

Nevertheless, IKEA’s Kowloon Bay Mega Box store will be offering discounts of up to 90 percent on home and garden products during the ungodly hours mentioned above.

And if you’re just thinking of popping in for some Swedish meatballs after a big night on the town, there’ll also be discounts of 15 percent on food items.

Be prepared to shoulder what you save, however, as delivery, assembly and storage services will be suspended for the night.
