You reap the seeds you sow, and that’s exactly what Conrad Hong Kong is doing in celebrating a century of Hilton hospitality! No mean feat, considering we’re usually spoilt for choice with the wide array of luxury hotel chains out there. The secret to their longevity? An achingly high standard of hospitality, something they’ve termed “The Hilton Effect” and maintained for a respectable period of time.

In this case, the Hilton Effect isn’t limited just to paying guests, but to their own employees and the community at large. One such way they’re extending the Hilton Effect to their staff is by removing the ‘employee’ label completely, affectionately referring to them as team members instead.

Conrad Hong Kong continuously credits their team members for their success. While the variety of top-end facilities (did someone say a heated outdoor pool?), and immaculate furnishings keep reviews high and customers satisfied, team members are truly the brains behind the operation that have allowed Conrad to cement their global presence as one of the most preferred hotels worldwide.

This centenary, guests can rejoice as Conrad Hong Kong’s celebrating by carefully curating a set of initiatives, all with Hilton Effect in mind. For starters, they’ll be running a charity event from May 27 (until they’re sold out!) in collaboration with Soap Cycling, a charitable organization that redistributes reprocessed single-use soap bars and other hotel amenities from hotels to disadvantaged communities.

Handmade soap will be available for sale, made from a recipe formulated exclusively for the event (you’ll just have to attend the event yourself to know the curated scent). Lovingly handmade by Ms. Bonnie Lui, founder of the homemade soap brand, handmade by B, supported by numerous volunteer team members, these soaps will use only high-quality ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter, and avocado oil. The soap can be purchased for HK$100/100g, but that’s not all. A special edition of their widely-loved Conrad Duck and Conrad Bear can also be redeemed for an additional HK$118. All proceeds from this event will be going towards charity.

The next time you book a room at Conrad, it might be nice to think about how every consistently fluffy pillow is the culmination of the Hilton Effect and the hard work of its team members. As part of this massive century-long milestone, they’ve also released a video to explore the career journey of a few team members from the hotel.
