COCO+ IRL: Be part of excellent events happening around Southeast Asia

This is the latest story in a promotional series about our new membership and subscription program COCO+.

By now you’ve already read about our original content, giveaways, and how affordable we are, among other benefits. Now, we’re here to tell you how COCO+ can benefit you IRL. (That’s “in real life” for anyone born before 1985.)

Part of being a COCO+ Member is getting first dibs on all the best events around the region. That means free or discounted access to Coconuts events, and awesome giveaways for other events like music festivals and concerts.

Here are a few examples of events that COCO+ Members have had exciting and exclusive access to:

Recently we held launch parties for our new docu-series COCONUTS TV ON IFLIX in Bangkok and Jakarta. COCO+ Members, plus esteemed media, bloggers, and celebrity guests were all invited. In Bangkok the event started with burgers, beer, and a screening of four documentary segments at Cinema Oasis, and ended with an after party at Sing Sing until the early hours. Check out some pics from the Bangkok event here. Both screenings included a panel with Coconuts TV filmmakers and iflix. More screening events are in the works, so watch this space.

COCO+ Members also get special perks and discounts at Coconuts’ annual stuff-yourself-till-you-can’t-stuff-yourself-anymore food festival, Yum Fest, in Bangkok. Yum Fest is a highly anticipated event that pulls together street food, beer, eating contests, and live music to create a one-of-a-kind event that’s all about self-indulgence and maybe even a little necessary self-punishment, by which we mean eating as many chilies as you can handle. Don’t worry, chilies are good for you…if you live past the heat!

If you think that there’s going to be any shortage of parties when you’re a part of the COCO+ family, then you’ve got another thing coming. In Singapore we hosted Rally in the Alley, our first ever block party, which featured free-flow beer and groovy beats. The success of the soiree led to a part two, which was, objectively, bangers. The photos speak for themselves. Stay tuned for part three coming soon!

We’ve also provided you with tickets to Epizode music festival in Phu Quoc, Clockenflap and Sónar in Hong Kong, Margaret Cho’s stand up special in KL, and Ubud Food Festival and Air Festival in Bali.

There’s no lack of events, parties, and ways to connect with us IRL when you join COCO+, that’s for sure. We like to make sure that everyone feels included, and that usually means tons of food and free-flow booze. (This seems to have become our specialty!) So come party with us by becoming a COCO+ Member!

Make sure to act fast! Right now, you can treat yourself to original stories, fresh content, and high-quality journalism for less than a latte a month: US$2.50.

This limited-time price is less than most taxi rides, cafe sandwiches, and even a kid’s movie ticket! Those things don’t last, though — they’re gone in a snap. But COCO+ won’t leave you. Once you’ve got us, you’ve got us. (How romantic is that?)

But you’ve gotta hurry! We’re increasing this special introductory price by a dollar per month come June 30th.
