Prayuth vows to prosecute topless dancers over Songkran

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has instructed authorities to arrest topless women during the upcoming Songkran celebrations.

In an attempt to encourage Thais to celebrate Songkran the traditional way, Prayuth said women who flash their breasts during the wet festival must be arrested.

“I order soldiers and the police to arrest all these dancers on the trucks,” he said.

He also instructed officials to impound drunk drivers’ vehicles, and asked for cooperation from citizens to reject rides from drunk drivers, Thai PBS reported.

“Drivers must not drink while driving. Everyone wants to go home quickly but they could be killed travelling on their vehicles, ” he said.
