In Pattaya, a large tree fell unexpectedly and damaged ten police cars and other vehicles parked beneath it yesterday.
It’s surely unfortunate but the weird part is the entire incident was predicted by a local masseuse who had an eerie dream about the incident, reported Sanook.
The damage was done when a large, old tree fell near the police officer apartments on Soi 5 off of Pattaya Sai 2 yesterday.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and rescue workers came out to check the nearby electricity.
Thai folk culture features stories about a goddess that rules over the trees, called Nang Takhian. There is a shrine to this very goddess close to where the tree fell. She supposedly appeared in the dream of the local masseuse, telling her a 20-meter-tall tree would fall and she should tell those living nearby to move their valuables.
She spread the word, and while some superstitious people heeded her warning, the police paid her no attention and left their cars parked in the area.
