When a pickup truck loaded up with stacks of hay happened to pass this bold elephant at Khao Yai National Park yesterday, the pachyderm made sure he didn’t miss the chance to get a delicious snack.

A video of a male elephant tearing down a few stacks of hay from the officials’ pickup truck before starting to eat in the middle of the road was shared widely in local media today.

Kanchit Srinoppawan, Head of Khao Yai National Park, said that he instructed his staff to buy hay from Pak Chong Market to use in an upcoming marathon event, but this elephant just came out of nowhere and stopped the truck.

He said he was surprised that the elephant seemed to know there would be a truck filled with hay passing that way, Daily News reported.

Located in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province, Khao Yai National Park is famous for having wild elephants that roam free. There have been a few reported incidents that may not be as cute as this hungry elephant. In October 2015, a herd of elephants cornered a motorcyclist, who raised his palms to plead for his life.

In January, 2015, an elephant was photographed humping a Mercedes, and the car’s owner was weirdly pleased about the coupling. He thought it meant good luck was coming his way.
