A Thai couple was arrested by a special wildlife trafficking unit while driving toward the Thai-Laos border in Bueng Kan province this morning.

The Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division stopped a pickup truck and found pieces of protected wild animals such as civets and various deer parts including some belonging to a muntjac, according to Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand.

Illegal wildlife traders can face up to a THB40,000 fine and four years in jail.
