Bangkok-based Editor/Reporter:
We’re looking for a news junkie with a wide range of interests in Bangkok urban life from traffic to food to the arts.
Top-notch writing chops are a must. You should be able to churn out entertaining and engaging copy on any subject in a unique voice.
Several years of experience in a fast-paced daily publication are required, but this isn’t a newspaper. We want someone tech-savvy with social media and blogging. Basic multimedia and camera skills are useful.
Thai language skills are a big plus but not a deal-breaker.
Responsibilities will include:
Writing original local news and lifestyle stories about Bangkok, as well as aggregating and re-writing stories from other source.
Reporting on news events, taking photos and/or video to supplement written stories
Managing social media – with an emphasis on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube – and uploading content live content from the field.
Knowledge of Drupal platform, multimedia experience, and an extensive network of sources are a bonus. So is ownership of a smartphone.
A university degree and at least three years of editorial experience are required.

Interns:
We’re looking to hire 3 interns. A multimedia intern to assist with video and photography projects, a graphic design intern to support our design team, and an editorial intern to help with copy and write original stories.
If you have a good instinct for news, a talent for writing and a robust sense of humor you’ll do well at Coconuts.
Fluency in English is required. Thai language skills are a big plus.
This position is for Thai nationals only.
The internship will last three months. It can be either part or full-time. If you’re a student, we can work to accommodate your schedule. In addition to training in some of the most cutting edge tools available, you’ll have the opportunity to pitch, research and write your own stories.
The internship is unpaid but we can offer college credit.
