A water pipe off the Bangkok-Chonburi motorway burst this morning, shooting a geyser of untreated water some 10 meters into the air — a captivating sight but scary enough to cause one motorist to swerve off the road.
The Provincial Waterworks Authority took nearly an hour to get the situation under control and fix the pipe, which was located in Chachoengsao province. Officials had to temporarily close off that section of the road to clean up the mess, causing some serious traffic congestion, reported Channel 7 News.
There was one resulting accident, Supranee Salee, 28, was driving by in a silver Honda when she plunged into a ditch on the side of the road while attempting to avoid the fountain. Luckily, she was unharmed.
Officials are now investigating the cause of the burst.
