Vocational students put hardware tools in Teacher’s Day flower tray

Vocational students in Lanna Polytechnic Technology College in Chiang Mai recently showcased their creativity on Teacher’s Day, using computer keyboards, a construction crane replica and even fruit to make the tray for the traditional ceremony known was wai kru in Thai.

The ceremony, along with the unconventional teachers worshiping tray, was shared on the college’s unofficial social media page. Turning event-goers’ heads were the incense and candle containers made of computer accessories, creative stationery, and animal masks featured in famous TV shows. These inventive trays also drew considerable attention from netizens.

The wai kru day falls June 14 of every year, but some schools may adopt for another day to hold the ceremony.

According to the owner of the social media page, who is also the Deputy Principal of the college, the institute welcomes creativity and encourages its students to think outside the box, Thai News Bureau reported.

Lanna Polytechnic Technology College focuses on education related to the industrial sector, commerce, information technology, and tourism. The college, like many other educational institutes, observes teacher’s day annually, creating an opportunity for students to pay homage to teachers and show the respect they have for their instructors.
