Two Thai trains collided when a track switch was miscalculated at Hua Lamphong station Saturday morning. Currently, the State Railway of Thailand is investigating the cause of this mistake.
Two trains, the 285 from Bangkok to Chachoengsao and the 78 from Nong Khai to Bangkok, derailed as they pulled up to a shared platform at the Bangkok train station.
Both train cars fought to stay on the track while officials took four hours to fix the problem, reported Sanook.
Luckily, no passengers or staff members were injured.
Vice governor of the SRT group, Thanongsak Pongphrasert, revealed that the possible causes could be technical difficulties, failed railing machinery, or mistakes from the signal officers.
